Dear NVMHA Members,
I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you of key events taking place in the month of December.
Sunday December 4th is the NVMHA Photo Day at Capilano Elementary School located at 1230 West 20th Street . Each team representative would have received a confirmation of their photo time from Wendy Wong, our Photo Day Coordinator. If you have not received your team’s confirmed time, contact Wendy directly (wendy@riggit.com).
Initiation and Atom teams are reminded that the deadline to hand in their raffle tickets and monies is December 4th at the Photo Day event and there will be an NVMHA representative present who will be on site to collect and record the sales records.
In an effort to give back to our community, we are running our first annual Hockey Socks for the Homeless campaign, therefore we ask all members to drop off in their gently used hockey socks at the photo day event . A long-time NVMHA member, Karen Nelsen, will be delivering the socks to local homeless shelters just in time for the cold winter weather that is upon us. If you would like to help Karen or if you want to make alternate arrangements for drop off, please contact her at karen@nelsenfinancial.com.
Giants Night Fundraiser: the Vancouver Giant’s take on the Portland Winterhawks on Friday December 9th and NVMHA is the host association. This evening includes the annual Teddy Bear Toss, 50/50 raffle, an NVMHA mini game and of course the main event itself. Team representatives are reminded to place your ticket order with Vince Harriott (vince.h@shaw.ca) in advance, and be in attendance to purchase your team’s tickets on Monday, December 5th at the Karen Magnussen Arena.
NVMHA will be hosting our annual Christmas Tournament December 26 through to the 30. Cheer on our Atom House, Peewee House and Peewee Rep teams as we play host to one of the largest tournaments offered in the lower mainland. NVMHA is still accepting raffle basket, cash and prize donations so please contact Eva Megaro (tournaments@nvmha.com) or Perry Turcotte (sponsor@nvmha.com) if you are able to contribute.
