Season Start-up – Update

Following Hockey Canada’s, BC Hockey’s, ViaSport’s and the Provincial Health Authority’s guidelines, we have been developing the NVMHA Return to Play – Safety Plan. Our plan will lay out how we’ll be getting on the ice, using the ice and getting off the ice in a safe and organized manner. This will be published and available for review within the next 2 weeks.

We’ve also secured ice times to conduct preseason and evaluation camps to welcome U13, U15 and U18 players the week of August 31 to September 4.

Based on ice availability we’re anticipating a gradual return to the ice in three phases: Phase 1: U13 to U18 evaluation camps; Phase 2: U11 evaluation camp; Phase 3; U7-U9 evaluations.

We’ll be sharing more updates in August. In the meantime, check out Coach James’ Weekly Skills Challenges on our website or Instagram @NorthVanMHA and get yourself ready for the season!

Stay safe everyone!

I have a 5 year old boy who took skating lessons. He can skate with full hockey equipment but hasn’t been on the ice since March. I’d like to start him in hockey. Where do we begin?
