U6-U9 Hockey Program

The season starts in mid-September and ends in late February. There is a Christmas break following the school calendar.

Registration generally begins in mid-April or early May, via an on-line registration system. We only accept on-line registrations.

Once your on-line registration has been accepted and you have a confirmation, you must submit via email to registrar@nvmha.com the following: new player registration form , player birth certificate and two items that prove residence in North Vancouver at the address provided (this can be copies of utility bills, tax statements, bank statements, car insurance and driver’s license).

Players must wear full hockey equipment including:

· Helmet with cage
· Neck guard
· Shoulder pads
· Elbow pads
· Hockey Gloves
· Hockey pants
· Shin guards
· Jock or Jill strap
· Skates
· NVMHA will provide jersey and hockey socks

We are dealing with 300+ kids in Initiation and can’t possibly guarantee everyone’s wishes. Requests for ice times can be given ONLY when you check your player into the assessment session in early September. If your child misses the assessment, you can email division director AFTER the assessment session to make a specific time request.
Note: we will do our best to accommodate requests, but it is not always guaranteed.

Your division director will provide you with information about conflict requests closer to the season start up. Unfortunately, player, coach and friend requests will not be entertained at this time. Over the years, minor hockey is very much about making new friends and becoming a part of new teams, so don’t get too attached to one buddy you want to play with.

99% of all jobs done at NVMHA are done by volunteers, so we need you!! We need the parents of our youngest players, especially, to get involved whenever/however they can. You can select a volunteer role during the on-line registration process but some options are:

-  All teams will have specific volunteer roles for each player’s parent (ex: treasurer, jersey parent, scorekeep/timekeep, social coordinator, etc)
-  Each team will need coaches/ assistant coaches, managers and Hockey Canada Safety Person (HCSP) referred as Team Officials.
-  We always need volunteers at the Association Level for Special events. Please email our Volunteer Coordinator for more information volunteer@nvmha.com
-  There is always a role for everyone
